I am in Love...with boots

It is time to confess...I am in love with fashion. Infact, right now I am head over heals with a pair of Steve Madden Tsunami rain boots. I was in great contemplation on whether I should get Hunter rain boots or not, then I randomly found these. There are the perfect rain boot, weather proof, fashion forward and super comfortable!

One of my favorite aspect of these boots are the zippers! I also really like the white "stitching". The totally amazing buckles are fantastic...the best rain boots ever.

Today was the day that I watched Eclipse for the first time on DVD, it was rather anti-climactic. I actually thought that after I saw it, I would wallow and wonder around my house knowing that there is never going to be an Edward...ever. But I was happily surprised that this was not the case, yes Edward is one of the greatest "men" to ever walk the fictional planet but I wasn't heart wrenchingly sad after I watched Eclipse. I mean I wish there was an Edward out there, somewhere. But Edward is absolutely perfect, and I don't think perfect exists.

I guess it is Au Revoir, Addio, Farvel!

The Sweetest Boy I Know

This is a close up of Watson...I love him. He is at this moment in time, the sweetest boy I know, probably I will ever know! I mean what boy will love you unconditionally, give you kisses and is so darn cute? Watson has the most amazing eyes, but they are so hard to see with his eyes brows.

Just look how cute he is, the cutest dog in the world!
Today Watson spent hours sleeping and cuddling on the couch with Kirka.  Then we went for a walk in the chilly weather, and came back to a warm and cozy house.

My dear Watson has been my inspiration to make dog jackets, coats and sweaters!

remnants of summer and doing nothing

I'm back and blogging...again. I really didn't do anything today, well except watch TV and look at fashion magazines. In fact right now I am watching EASY A for the second time in a row. I also watched EAT PRAY LOVE for the second time. Somewhere in the Italian portion of the movie there is something about the Art of Doing Nothing, thats exactly what I did. I really did nothing.

Speaking on a different note, it is that time of year when I linger on the past summer months. These are some pictures I took on the way back from Oregon. For some reason I have some obsession with taking pictures outside the car window at sunset.

This is just some random picture that I thought would complement my own.
And with the thoughts of summer comes the whistful whims of imagination of the classic, never actually realistic summer. You know, the movie summers, young love and hanging out in town wearing perfect 1950's summer dresses...this never happens! For instance, last summer I just sat around the house in sweat pants watching movies and sewing.
So very whimsical.

Abandoning a Plan

After much deliberation and scheduling conflicts I have decided to abandon the plan for my winter clothing and photoshoot. I came to this conclusion while trying to fall asleep last night, I just kept thinking over and over that spring is coming! And so with my new dress form in tow I will now begin to create spring/summer clothing! I have been really inspired by navy, white and yellow, basically this will be the palette of the "collection". Like a sailor, sea theme! Or maybe, as I am rethinking this, a floral theme with lots of different flower prints.

I am kind of sad because it seems as though I cannot upload pictures!!!

Anyway, I realized that it has been a year since I started this Blog! I think I have had around 750 views, many of them myself, but it is a start!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Taya Now has a Genuine Dress Form

Yep, the title pretty much says it all, I have a dress form! I have been wanting one for a couple of years and this Christmas I got one! It is so beautiful! It is linen and has the super awesome stand that raises it up and down. The dress form is totally industrial and unlike other ones you can put pins into it! Thank You so much Dad and Mom for my wonderful Christmas present

On my mind

Lots of things are on my mind. Something rather prominent is that fact that there is only one more week of winter break, a substantial amount of time but it seems to go quickly! Another thing I am thinking about is college. Yes, I am only a sophomore but I think I should start looking into colleges now. I might have mentioned that I really want to go the University of the Arts London, obviously it is in London. But then I began to think that maybe I can't live in London, so extremely far from my family. Most kids are so anxious to go to college because they want to get rid of their parents, I am in a hurry to go to college because I dislike high school so much! I guess hating high school so much isn't a good thing but I really don't like it, not to be super negative.

I have been also pondering my life in the future and what turns it might take, just a thought.

Anyway, today I cleaned the fridge and mopped the kitchen floor, then I went to Freestone were I got some bread and a scone, then went to return a Christmas present. The owner of the store, mentioned that she liked the button earrings I made my mom for Christmas, I was happy. Then my mom got a super cute hat that looks totally fabulous and we went to home for diner. Diner was crab and garlic bread, it was super yummy!

Inspiration

Throughout these last few days I have found that there are many sources of inspiration if you are open to them. For instance a couple days ago I was making snowflakes out of an old book and was totally inspired. I had this idea about taking all of the ends of the pages I didn't use with the Page numbers and making a collage. And then while I was making my bag I kept cutting off little strips and thought it would be cool to sew then in-between tulle netting.

Then, I was super inspired by homeless people. I mean what if you created a line of clothing inspirEd by homelessness. While in the city today, I was fascinated by what they were wearing! It's so eclectic. And unlike most people they wear what is warmest and efficient. Score instance I saw this man, he was wearing a long sleeve and two short sleeve shirts all in about the same tone of green. I don't mean this to be disrespectful but rather just a wonderence, a study of the clothing around me!

Tonight is Christmas Eve, I love Christmas! I wish and hope for everyone a very Merry Christmas, with love, peace and joy!

Today

After a restless sleep, I got up at around ten and meandered around my house for a bit. Then I decided to make a bag for my self, something I had been wanting to to for a long time. Then, I helped my mom put up the Christmas tree and get ornaments. After this, I went to the Underwood for hamburgers. This is actually really weird because I really don't like hamburgers, but for the last couple of days I have totally been craving one! When I came home I again worked on my bag and periodically decorated the tree.  I had the rest of my hamburger for dinner and watched EAT PRAY LOVE.

I totally realized something while watching this movie. It seems as though everyone, or maybe just me is searching for something profound to say. I mean something that will really move you and make one think. But then I realized that almost no one is going to say something completely enlightened unless they have writers, are really quick thinkers or just are good with words. It's kind of one of those moments when you come up with a comeback five minutes late.

So this is my bag, I wanted it to be kind of weird and eclectic. I went to my shelf and chose pink boiled wool, why I chose pink I have no idea. Pink is not at all wintery,  it is cold and rainy, I have absolutely no notion as to why I chose pink. I saw that someone had put all of these flower things on a head band and was inspired!
The design for my bag is kind of weird, but it just might work. There is a zipper up top and it turns into the flap.
Oh yes, and my rain boots arrived today and I ordered them yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! They are navy blue with a yellow zipper down the back, they are so cute! Thank You Mom for the cutest rain boots ever!

Well, I will be back soon!

John Lennon

Whenever I am sad or feeling like crying, I listen to John Lennon. Somehow his melancholy music makes me feel better by bring me into the saddest mood possible. It may be because I reach the saddest point ever and wallow. Well, last night I lied in bed listening to the songs of John Lennon. One of my absolute favorite songs is Jealous Guy, it's so beautiful and melancholy. Then there Is Oh My Love, one of those songs that is so painstakingly beautiful is makes you want to cry. Speaking of crying everytime I listen to John Lennon I want to or just start crying.

Anyway, FINALS are OVER!!!!!!!!!! Break has started and I am so very excited! I have so many super fabulous plans!

Preparations for Finals

Last weekend I had the dance show! The first two days were ok and then on the second night I went on this sad, depressed thing. All saturday I sat on the couch a wallowed, ate food and watched movies. Then suddenly I was super happy and just knew that it would be a good performance. I had a super awesome performance that saturday night and then I  sunday and the monday and tuesday after the shows were terrible! Wednesday and Thursday and today were way better!

Finals are next week and I am really trying not to freak out! In a weak, it will be all over and Christmas break! During the time I have off, I will be working on completing my clothes and then photograph them in a photo shoot! I have some super cool ideas for the "set".

Any way, Toodles till next time!
